This quite short tale, originally published under the title “The Whisper,” is surprisingly effective considering that nothing much happens overtly during the course of the story. These series are generally lighthearted and innocent, and very obviously more girly than others due to the Shojo nature, but still appeal to males due to the strong girl-girl relationships. The latter three, The Ghost in the Mirror (1993), Vengeance of the Witchfinder (1993), and The Doom of the Haunted Opera (1995), are considerably better than the Dixons.
