Her first pub- lication was at age sixteen, a story for the BBC Children's Hour. Fourth. whose publication preceded Volumes 1 and 2 (1857) by one year. musings on changes in the public’s response to their collection. because it appears in Volume 3. to avoid a lengthy repetition.
