Such begins the infectious opening theme to Pucca, the Korean cartoon (or anime, if you prefer) currently being shown on Jetix. The music alone is reason to watch. The catchy little theme by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box worms it’s way into your brain until you find yourself wandering around the house singing, “Pucca loves Garu…”. But the show itself is just as much fun! The bright and colorful cartoon centers around Pucca, a sweet Chinese girl who loves noodles. But even more than noodles, she loves Garu, a ninja boy. Pucca is cute and absolutely mad about Garu. Garu, on the other hand, tries his best to avoid her. Despite being a very skilled ninja, Pucca seems to effortlessly best him at times. Perhaps, it’s the power of love?
The cartoon is filled with fun and silly characters like Garu’s best friend/occasional rival, Abyo. A Bruce Lee look-a-like, he’s constantly ripping off his shirt for no apparent reason. Or Tobe, a rival ninja that has it in for Garu. He regularly appears with his gang of ninjas to try and best Garu although he never seems to. He has some of the funniest lines in the show. The episodes are short and honestly, delightful! Pucca is just so darn cute with that grin and giggle of hers. It’s impossible to resist! To paraphrase Mega Tokoyo “..the cuteness…it is too much!”

So give into the sweetness that is Pucca and watch! Share it with your kids! You’ll be surprised how insidious this adorable little show is. Before you know, you too will be hooked!

I love Pucca! I’ve been hooked for a while now and I don’t ever want to get unhooked! I just put the Funny Love song as my song on my myspace! I love to sing it and I’m getting on my cousin’s last nerve who lives with me and hates Pucca! She’s so crazy for not liking Pucca! By the way, the Slam Bam Birthday Bash epsiode is my favoirte of all times! I love it because Garu shows that he cares about Pucca too!

I, too, love Pucca! The song is one of the catchiest things you’ll ever hear! And how can you not love that cute grinning face or Garu’s big eyes. The show rocks! My favorite episode is Snow Ninjas. I adore the scene where Pucca is going up the stairs to the weather control machine while the ninja boy is going down…and up and down…until she finally just smacks him! I love it!
Master Soo: (to Pucca) Oh, hello, cute little girl. How’s the weather treating you? (Pucca giggles, and Master Soo sees the broken control lever to his weather machine in her hand) OYYY!!! THAT’S not cute! That’s not cute at ALL.
